Dr. Aaron G. Filler, MD PhD FRCS, is a Neurosurgeon, NeuroImaging specialist, Inventor, Author, Evolutionary Biologist, and Neuroscientist based in Santa Monica, California. He is the chief of neurosurgery for the Institute for Nerve Medicine, and serves as clinical director for The Neurography Institute.

Dr. Filler is co-inventor of magnetic resonance neurography imaging and diffusion anisotropy imaging (DTI). In 2015, he was elected president of the Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics, a worldwide body dedicated to breaking the boundaries of science, technology, medicine, art and healthcare policy.

He is also a published author, with his most recent books being “Smart Guide to Patents” (Smart Guide Publications), “The Upright Ape: A New Origin of Species” (New Page Books) and “Do You Really Need Back Surgery?” (Oxford University Press).
